Peninsula Credit actively seeks direct loan opportunities through our established New Zealand network of business owners and professional advisors. We adopt a prudent investment approach, focusing on robust risk assessment and the construction of a diverse loan portfolio.
Our loan origination and management processes are governed by key principles:
Development of a diverse loan portfolio by applying maximum industry sector and loan amount limits at the borrower and portfolio level.
A focus on established and proven operating businesses (excluding exposure to property development, early-stage businesses, venture capital or start-up business).
Understand and consider the individual attributes of each borrower and structure each loan accordingly.
Ensure investor capital remains highly protected through loan structure and preferred security interests over business and borrower assets.
Application of appropriate financial and reporting covenants to permit active and hands-on management of each loan.
All prospective loans are subject to the vigorous credit and risk management policy framework of Peninsula Credit. All direct lending opportunities are subject to Investment Committee approval, who together bring extensive and relevant New Zealand financial service sector experience.
